If your vehicle is large enough, there are wheelchair lifts that allow the user to remain seated in the wheelchair.
The installation of an inclined platform wheelchair lift should allow for normal use of the stairway handrail when the lift is not in use.
For obvious reasons, inclined platform wheelchair lifts should be installed with a battery backup system to cope for power failures.
